Making the Milestone Possible: VIP Support for Your Special Wedding Guests

Let me tell you about the difference we could make together, in how that special parent, grandparent, family member, or friend enjoys their day. You may want to invite and include these people at your wedding, that most special milestone which you may wish them to share and be included in, but which they may not be able to attend independently due to their mobility, frailty, or memory.

At Event Carer, we focus on the actual reality of the logistics of getting them from their home to the wedding and back again. Sometimes, this is managed by kindly friends, family, and neighbours, but we want to make this an extra special time just for them—treating them like the VIPs they truly are.

Door-to-Door Care: A Stress-Free Start at Home

Our door-to-door support begins long before the ceremony. A specific healthcare professional arrives at your guest's home in plenty of time, so there is no rush or haste needed. Time and peace of mind are key.

We assist and support them as they get ready for the occasion, gently checking that they have everything they need to feel prepared and empowered. While maintaining their privacy and dignity, we share a cup of tea and a chat, getting to know each other and exploring any concerns they may have for the day ahead.

The VIP Journey: More Than Just Transport

To ensure the day runs smoothly, I chat with those who usually care for these precious family matriarchs or patriarchs to ascertain what "behind the scenes" items or issues need to be managed. These are the unseen details that can easily be forgotten or missed by well-meaning and much-loved stand-ins.

The journey itself is taken in our clean and valeted business class Qashqai—a comfortable, fully insured, and spacious environment where your loved one can relax in either the front or rear seats. While the vehicle is not a wheelchair-accessible vehicle (WAV) for seated travel, it has ample room to securely transport folded wheelchairs, walkers, and mobility aids for those able to transfer into a car seat.

  • Tailored Travel: If the journey is long, we work in a rest break.

  • Personalized Atmosphere: We discuss topics of interest, so conversations are smooth and engaging, and we play the music they enjoy encouraging relaxation.

  • Stimulating Routes: We can even go past places of interest to the guest, so they arrive happy and stimulated.

Expert Navigation at the Venue

Once at the church or venue, we park as close as possible to ensure safety. Your guest will be professionally and carefully supported out of the car. Whether they are transferring into a wheelchair or using mobility aids, we go at their pace, negotiating any uneven paths or steps with dignity. All access will have been explored prior to the day to ensure everything goes smoothly.

Your "Behind the Scenes Plus One"

I am a Registered Nurse with over 10 years of experience caring for people with frailty, poor mobility, and memory concerns. While I won't be supporting as a Registered Nurse on the day, I bring these skills and knowledge with me as I assist and act as their "behind the scenes plus one."

Your special guest will be fully supported throughout the day:

  • The Ceremony: I can sit with them for companionship or support them to be included in the bridal party.

  • The Celebration: I discreetly help them navigate the drinks reception, photographs, wedding breakfast, and speeches.

  • Constant Care: I will remain focused; your guest, is always front and centre in my mind.

Wending Home: A Gentle End to a Wonderful Day

Importantly, when they are ready to leave, I am totally at their disposal. It is their choice when we bid farewell and navigate our exit.

With them as my VIP, we will make our way back home chatting about the wonderful day, the memories made, and the moments shared. Once back home, we gently change out of occasion wear into comfortable clothes, have a cup of tea, and perhaps a light bite to eat. I can support with medication, continence, or personal care as appropriate.

Peace of Mind for the Whole Family

Once they are settled and the home is secure, I take my leave and inform their usual carers that they are home safe.

This service takes a massive weight off the minds of usual carers; it gives them a well-deserved time to be themselves and enjoy the day without feeling torn. No one can provide the care a family member does, but for a day, I can offer everyone involved a day free of care—just enjoyment and great memories.
